Hopefully one day I while be to "seize the day". I think that I’m taking the steps toward the right direction by knowing the things that I enjoy in life and also by trying new things. One thing that I want to change about myself is that sometimes my shyness gets the best of me and I won’t share my ideas. This is something that I must definitely change about myself considering the fact that I will soon be attending college and I must take full advantage of this in order to become more outgoing and to try new things. I must say that during my four years in highschool I have not taken the time to become more outgoing and that is something that I will always regret but I think I have been like this during highschool because I really disliked the idea of moving and that played a major role when it came for me to be outgoing. I will definitely work on this during college because I will try my hardest to make my years in college some of the most enjoyable years of my life.

Something that I take joy in which some might consider fashion but personally I don’t think it involves fashion, is looking presentable but more specifically I really like sneakers. Ever since middle school I have had this somewhat passion for sneakers and they brought some happiness when I was able to get a pair of sneakers. Although my interest in sneakers began in middle school, I was not able to purchase many until last year because financially I was not able to afford them. But now that I can, I go out and look for sneakers that desire, not to say that I’m a material person but it’s just something that I enjoy. I like reading up on the new sneakers that are going to be released and also try to find ways of trading and selling sneakers. This is somewhat of a new culture because many people are now becoming more and more interested in this concept of sneakers.

Music is a big part of my life because it is something that I enjoy a lot. I have no real preference in music because I switch the style of music I listen to all the time. For some reason I get tired of the specific genre of music I’m listening too and then decide to switch it up. Sometimes the phases I have can be for a couple of months and then I would change the music I’m listen too. For example I can be listening to some rock for a couple of months and then just out of nowhere start listening to lots of Spanish music and from their switch again to hip-hop music. Overall I love music because I can relate to the words of the song writer and I just enjoy the instruments, rhythms and beats of different music. I’m currently listening to lots of 90s hip-hop and I’m really enjoying the music. Eventually I will switch the music genre and I have no idea what I will be listening too in a couple of months from now. I can always relate to music and it always makes my days better when I’m listening to music.

Sports is something that I really enjoy whether watching football on television or if am playing a pick up basketball game at the park. I have never been part of an official team which is something I regret because I have had the opportunities and I have turned them down. I always felt that I could be a decent player in the sports I enjoy but I have never taken the step forward to join anything I enjoy to play. I also watch sports on televison and I am a fan of almost every New York team whether their Super Bowl Champions or the team can hardly win any games. For the most part I must say that sports are like an outlet for me when I feel upset or when I’m angry. I also involve myself with exercise and that I something that I can truly say I enjoy exercise because it is something that I have stuck with and have had major progress in; hopefully I will be engaging in this activity until it’s no longer physically possible for me.

This blog will be used to explain the reasons for my being or in other words "who am I?" This is a very difficult question that I have asked myself many times. I still don’t know the answer to this question but hopefully one day I will be able to come to a conclusion. One thing that I do know is where I come from. I know that my parents are Salvadorian immigrants that came to the United States to give themselves and the family they would have a better opportunity in life. I know that I grew up in Queens Village, New York for fourteen years of my life and I consider those years as some of the best years of my life. I attended a public elementary school and a public middle school. I must say that my experience in elementary school was wonderful as far as I can remember but my middle school experience was a very unique, exciting, and enjoyable because of numerous reasons. I moved to Herricks after my final year of middle school and this was a turning point in my life because I was upset and frustrated at the fact that I would be leaving everything that I have ever enjoyed to move to a new, unfamiliar area with people I have never met before. Attending Herricks Highschool has been something very interesting or in other words a love/hate relationship because I have hated the school since the day I stepped foot in it and year by year I have been able to enjoy more of the school. Now I’m only five months from leaving this place and starting a new chapter in my life.
